Call for Tutorials

Submit a Tutorial Proposal

IEEE MILCOM 2025 will provide a forum for professionals in industry, academia, and government worldwide to engage with an exciting program that focuses on the current and emerging topics applicable to all facets of military communications and networking technologies. Tutorials are a key component of this experience, providing a forum for in-depth discussions and understanding of a specific topic.

IEEE MILCOM 2025 seeks tutorial proposals on current and emerging topics in communications and networking. In particular, we are interested in tutorials that broadly respond to the following areas of interest to the MILCOM community:

  • Advanced Wireless and Semiconductor Technologies
  • New Spectrum Bands, Technologies, Access Mechanisms, Policies
  • Advances in AI and ML for Communications and Networks
  • Security of Communications and Networking
  • Novel Network Architectures and Use Cases
  • 5G/6G and Advanced Features in Cellular Communications
  • New Technologies Beyond Conventional Communications

Proposals must be submitted using the link on top this page shortly by the deadline as indicated below.

Each tutorial proposal must adhere to a six-page limit and include the following information:

  1. Title of the tutorial.
  2. Abstract, objectives and motivation.
  3. Timeliness, intended audience and their required past expertise.
  4. A description of the technical issues that the tutorial will address.
  5. An outline of the tutorial content, including the tentative time for each topic.
  6. Statement of similarities and differences with other tutorials offered during the last two editions of MILCOM.
  7. The tutorial's completion rate. 100% equals ready to go, and 50% means halfway completed. If it is not 100%, provide a completion date.
  8. Name, affiliation, and a short biography of each tutorial speaker.
  9. A description of the past/relevant experience of the speaker(s) on the topic of the tutorial.
  10. A description of previous tutorial experience of the speaker(s), and past versions of the tutorial.
  11. (Optional) Proposals may include supplementary information on unique features and values that the material and presentation will bring to the audience. Examples of other supplementary information: hands-on and interactive demonstrations; foundational and state-of-the-art research results; tools and techniques used by practitioners. Additionally, you can indicate if your proposed tutorial has been approved to meet continuing education and/or certification maintenance requirements.

Each tutorial proposal must address all points of the guideline. Proposals not meeting the requirements will be returned, noting the deficiencies. Email confirmations will be required during tutorial evaluation to ensure all proposals secure equal evaluation and acknowledgment of correspondence with the tutorial chairs. The proposers of each tutorial agree that they will abide by all tutorial submission deadlines, and at least one of the tutorial instructors will attend IEEE MILCOM 2025.
